Catering Disposables
Catering Disposables Ltd, is a prominent Irish company that supplies single-use food service and hygiene products (cups, containers, napkins, custom packaging) to the foodservice industry, emphasising eco-friendly and sustainable options, with a strong focus on customer service and innovation.
Why Verde was hired.
We’re proud to partner with Catering Disposables, a leading supplier in the catering sector committed to sustainability and innovation. Following initial discussions, they chose Verde Energy Group to deliver a fully funded solar PV system that aligns with their key goals: reducing carbon emissions, lowering energy costs, decreasing reliance on the grid, and generating clean, sustainable electricity on-site. This partnership reflects their proactive approach to environmental responsibility and long-term operational efficiency.
The challenge.
Before implementing their solar PV system, Catering Disposables faced several pressing energy challenges. Rising electricity costs were putting pressure on operational budgets, while increasing demand for sustainability from customers and stakeholders highlighted the need for measurable environmental action. Additionally, reliance on the national grid made long-term energy planning uncertain, especially amid growing concerns over energy security and volatility. These challenges underscored the importance of finding a solution that would provide cost stability, reduce emissions, and support their transition to more sustainable operations.

The outcomes.
As a result of the installation, Catering Disposables now operate solar PV systems on both of their facility roofs, with 42 kWh capacity on each. This investment has significantly improved their energy profile, making them 24% self-sufficient in electricity usage. With a projected payback period of just 2.2 years, the system delivers rapid financial returns alongside strong environmental benefits, cutting an estimated 19,803 kg of CO₂e emissions annually. The project marks a major step toward long-term sustainability and energy independence.

Tanco partnered with Verde Energy Group to support their transition to renewable energy through the installation of a 162 kWp solar PV system. Delivered through Verde’s Deferred Payment Scheme, the project allowed Tanco to access the benefits of solar with no upfront capital investment, while retaining ownership of the asset and reducing long-term energy costs. As a manufacturing business, Tanco has consistent energy demand throughout the day, making solar PV a strong fit for their operations. The system was designed to maximise on-site consumption, reduce reliance on grid electricity, and support the company’s wider sustainability goals.
