Kiernan Milling

Kiernan Milling is an Irish milling business based in Granard, Co. Longford, producing grain and feed products to support the agricultural sector. To reduce energy costs and improve sustainability across their operations, Kiernan Milling partnered with Verde Energy Group to install a roof-mounted, CAPEX-funded solar PV system at their facility.

Why Verde was hired.

With high, consistent energy demand, Kiernan Milling required a trusted partner to design and install a system that would maximise generation while integrating seamlessly into an operational site. Verde provided a full turnkey service, from engineering and design through installation and commissioning, ensuring a safe delivery and long-term performance.

The challenge.

As an active industrial site, the installation required careful coordination to maintain site access and avoid disruption to day-to-day operations. A roof-mounted system of this scale also required detailed planning around roof layout, safe access, and electrical integration to ensure the project could be delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.

The outcomes.

The completed system delivers a total PV generator output of 418.31 kWp, generating approximately 337,536 kWh of clean electricity per year. This translates into an estimated annual reduction of 117,441 kg of CO₂ emissions, helping Kiernan Milling lower its environmental impact while benefiting from long-term energy savings through on-site renewable generation.
