Why Verde was hired.
Ballymaloe Foods selected Verde Energy Group as their solar partner due to our proven ability to deliver energy solutions that balance sustainability, efficiency, and minimal operational disruption. As a food production facility, Ballymaloe required a partner who could complete the installation with precision, speed, and strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
The challenge.
One of the key challenges in delivering this project was completing the installation without disrupting the ongoing food processing operations at Ballymaloe Foods. Given the strict hygiene requirements and the continuous nature of production, it was essential that the work be carried out with minimal intrusion to both workflow and staff. Careful planning and coordination between our team and Ballymaloe’s operations allowed us to execute the full installation in just four days, ensuring a smooth delivery with zero disruption to production or personnel.
The outcomes.
Following the installation of a 75 kWh solar PV system, Ballymaloe Foods has significantly enhanced its energy efficiency and sustainability performance. The system now supplies approximately 66,130 kWh of clean electricity annually, covering 24.8% of the site’s total electricity consumption. This transition to solar power has also delivered substantial environmental benefits, with an annual reduction of 21,951 kg of CO₂ emissions a major step forward in the company’s climate-conscious operations. With a payback period of just 2.39 years, the system is already delivering measurable returns, both environmentally and financially.
