Alps Electric
Alps Electric, is a global leader in the development and supply of electronic components.
Why Verde was hired.
Alps Electric partnered with Verde Energy Group as part of their commitment to reducing environmental impact and improving energy performance across their operations. A key focus for the company was lowering Scope 2 emissions, those associated with purchased electricity, by generating clean power on-site. Verde was chosen for our ability to deliver a fully turnkey solar solution, which included everything from system design to installation, and even a comprehensive structural survey of the facility's roof to ensure long-term safety and reliability. In addition to delivering measurable carbon savings, the project was also structured to help reduce energy costs and provide a strong financial return, aligning with Alps Electric’s operational and sustainability goals.
The challenge.
Delivering a large-scale solar PV system at an industrial facility like Alps Electric came with a number of key considerations. Coordinating the installation around ongoing operations required careful planning to ensure minimal disruption to daily workflows. Additionally, the scale of the system necessitated a detailed structural assessment of the roof to confirm load-bearing capacity and long-term safety. Site access and equipment placement also posed logistical challenges, particularly in managing crane lifts and ensuring health and safety compliance across a live industrial environment. Despite these factors, the project was delivered smoothly and on schedule, thanks to close collaboration between Verde’s project team and Alps Electric’s facilities and safety personnel.

The outcomes.
The system now generates approximately 222,136 kWh of clean electricity per year, supporting the company’s operations with renewable energy and reinforcing its dedication to sustainability. With an expected CO2 emissions reduction of 104,389 kg annually and a payback period of just 3.85 years, this project not only delivers strong environmental impact but also long-term economic value.
